This particular piece is made of plaster, & while we seal all of our painted statues/plaques with linseed oil before painting & several coats of Liguitex & Krylon Varnish after painting, it is still not advisable to place plaster products outside. While they would hold up for a year or two, the elements will take a toll on them within a couple of years. We want you to get your money's worth & many years of enjoyment out of your purchase so, we would advise you to place any plaster items indoors.
We typically use concrete, plaster, or MatrixDryve to make our statues & plaques. So, which is right for your use?What are the differences between them?
A. Concrete: Concrete is absolutely incredible for outdoor use because of its durability.
B. Plaster: Plaster seems to capture details a bit better than concrete which makes some very detailed & stunning pieces, but it lacks the durability of concrete, which is why we advise keeping plaster indoors.
C. MatrixDryve: As a polymerized plaster, MatrixDryve gives the best of both concrete & plaster. It has durability for outdoor use like concrete but picks up the details like plaster. It's amazing, but a bit more pricey than concrete or plaster.
